College Graduation Photos (UofM, MSU & Beyond)
College grad photos are becoming very popular- and why not?? It's your biggest accomplishment to date, and you're going to want to celebrate and remember this time of your life. Many grads move away quickly after classes wrap and from there life moves quickly-- trust me.
Planning your session:
The iconic campus spots at Michigan State and the University of Michigan also come with long lines- sometimes 3+ hours during grad week. I recommend booking your grad photos 4-5 weeks before commencement, during the morning or early afternoon. This way you'll be able to fit the top 2-3 campus spots into a session without waiting.
University of Michigan grads love photos at the Law Quad main archway, buildings around campus specific to their major, and outside Michigan Stadium. Michigan State grads love photos at the Sparty statue, stadium and campus clocktower.
If you choose a shorter session or a session closer to grad week, we can still get beautiful, meaningful photos. We’ll just keep locations flexible and choose the best spots available in the moment.
Popular props for college students include champagne, decorated caps, and items related to their future profession or college life. Pro tip: order all your gear early so you can take photos before the rush!

**If we encounter long waits on campus I do charge for extra time If I have room in my schedule to accommodate it. Please plan on a morning or early afternoon session at least 3 weeks before graduation. In 2026 waits at MSU/UofM were seriously 4+ hours!*
The white dress- it's iconic, every grad knows it. My recommendation: either go flowy and short or mid-length and structured for the most flattering look. Click the link above for ideas.
High School Senior Graduation Photos
For high school seniors, one of the most requested locations is their homeschool football field or stadium—and for good reason. It photographs beautifully and feels personal to your high school experience.
The challenge? Scheduling around sports.
Games and practices often run late into the evening, especially in the spring. Because of that, I recommend:
Sunday evenings or off days like Memorial Day- these tend to be the easiest times to access the field without interruptions.
If you’re open to other locations, there are so many great options nearby:
The University of Michigan Law Quad for a classic, timeless look
Downtown Plymouth for a mix of backdrops
Popular props for high school grads include sports gear, decorated caps, and flags/pennants/shirts for their future college.
I offer high school senior sessions throughout the spring and my booking page combines these and grad photos. I offer sessions as short as 15-minutes and as long as 90-minutes. The longer sessions can be booked for groups or buddies- please indicate this on your booking questionnaire.
I've complied a list of dress ideas to help you put together your best graduation look! Always buy well in advance to allow for returns & exchanges.
